Stay Warm This Winter with the LEAP Boiler Scheme

Keeping your home warm shouldn’t break the bank — but for many families, a broken boiler can mean weeks without heat. The LEAP Boiler Scheme, available through South Rings Energy, offers a lifeline for homeowners in Lancashire and across the UK, providing free boiler repairs or replacements for those most in need.

Funded by energy suppliers as part of the Warm Home Discount Industry Initiative, this government-backed scheme ensures that vulnerable households in fuel poverty can get their heating fixed or replaced — completely free of charge. Most boilers are repaired or replaced within two weeks, helping families stay warm quickly and safely.

The grant covers gas boiler replacements and repairs but does not include radiators or pipework unless absolutely necessary. Eligible households must own their home, use gas central heating, and have a boiler that’s broken or unreliable.

You may qualify for a free boiler replacement grant if:

  • Your household is in fuel poverty or at risk of it.
  • Someone in your home is over 65, has a child under 5, or suffers from a health condition made worse by the cold.
  • You receive means-tested benefits such as Universal Credit, Income Support, or Housing Benefit, or your total household income is under £31,000.

Replacing an old, inefficient boiler can help you save money on energy bills, reduce your carbon footprint, and keep your home cosy all year round.

Don’t wait until the cold sets in — find out if you qualify today.
