Who qualifies for the ECO scheme?
ECO is a government grant incentive created to reduce carbon emissions and heat homes for less. When the government launched the latest version of the ECO scheme (Energy Company Obligation) ECO4 it placed targets on the biggest energy suppliers to help households to install energy efficiency measures.
As part of the scheme, if you receive a qualifying benefit and your boiler has an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of D or less you may be entitled to a home improvement grant towards a new A-rated boiler. The grants for homeowners are funded by UK energy companies and don’t need to be repaid.
Even if you do not receive one of the benefits mentioned below you may still be eligible for other government funding such as the Green Homes Grant so don’t delay.
